Oreo Bon Bons are irresistible. Our family makes them around Christmas, combining the creamy tang of cream cheese with rich, chocolatey Oreos. Dipping them in white bark adds a sweet, smooth coating. Each bite is a perfect blend of creamy, crunchy, sweet, and tangy. πͺπ«β¨
Oreo Bon Bons
Oreo Bon Bons are a modern twist on the classic Oreo, created in 1912 by Nabisco. Transforming Oreos into cream-filled bon bons became a fun way to enjoy the treat, combining crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate. A popular dessert for any occasion! πͺπ«
Ingredients
- 1 package 14 oz Oreo cookies
- 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz white bark or white chocolate coating
- Sprinkles crushed Oreos, or other toppings (optional)
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. If you donβt have a food processor, place the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese until well blended.
- Form the Bon Bons: Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the White Bark: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white bark in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
- Dip the Bon Bons: Using a fork, dip each Oreo ball into the melted white bark, letting the excess drip off. Place back on the parchment paper.
- Decorate: While the white bark is still wet, sprinkle with toppings like crushed Oreos or sprinkles, if desired.
- Set: Allow the white bark to set completely, either at room temperature or in the fridge.
