Ingredients
- 6 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee cooled
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur optional
- 1 package ladyfingers about 24
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings optional
Instructions
- Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- Prepare the Coffee Mixture: Combine the brewed espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
