New York Style Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

Recipe yields enough dough for four pizzas.


  • 1 Pizza Peel
  • 4 Small Bowls


  • 2 1/2 cup Warm Water
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Dry Yeast
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 5 cup Bread Flour


  • In a large bowl, add water, Yeast, and sugar. Let bloom for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add Flour and knead until sticky
  • Stretch to see if it can get thin without tearing
  • Place balls into bowls with a little olive oil in the bottom
  • Roll the balls to insure they are covered in oil to keep balls from drying out. Cover the bowl with lid or plastic wrap. You can keep these balls for up to a week in the refrigerator.
  • When balls double in size, they are ready to be shaped into pizzas.
