Coleslaw is a fantastic side dish that brings a refreshing crunch to any meal. Its combination of crisp cabbage and creamy or tangy dressing creates a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. Whether you’re enjoying it with barbecue, sandwiches, or as part of a picnic spread, coleslaw adds a light, zesty element that complements a wide variety of dishes. It’s not just tasty but also versatile, making it a favorite for many.
Papa’s Favorite Coleslaw
As with any recipe, quality ingredients are the key. We wanted to change thing up a little with the coleslaw we served with barbeque. I swapped ACV and honey instead of using the more common ingredients of white or red wine vinegar and sugar. The taste was fantastic! We are supper happy with this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 14 oz Shredded Cabbage Angel Hair
Instructions
- Mix dressing ingredients (everything excluding cabbage) until smooth. I typically do this in a large ziplock bag and store in the refrigerator until a few minutes before I serve the coleslaw.
- Thoroughly mix the dressing with the cabbage and serve.
